EXO (Hangul:엑소) are a Korean/Chinese boy group formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2011. The group officially debuted in 2012, having twelve members become separated into two subgroups, EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K would continue on with their Korean activities, while EXO-M would continue in China, speaking Mandarin. They performed their songs in both Korean and Mandarin. EXO began to rise after the release of their first full-length album XOXO. The album contained breakthrough tracks such as "Growl." The album continued to climb the charts as t went on to sell over a million copies. That put EXO as the best selling Korean artist in the last twelve years.

Their next full-length album EXODUS succeeded much better than XOXO. EXODUS had become the highest charting album from a Korean boy group. The track "Call Me Baby" had become the first and only K-pop song to enter the Canadian HOT 100. The album EXODUS continues to succeed, as it went on to sell another million copies.
